F.I.C.B.Wine Knights World Championship 2023-Portugal

The FICB (World Wine Federation) -sponsored World Wine Knights Convention, to which the Knights of the Grape Society belongs, will be held from May 27 to 31, 2023 (until June 3 if you participate in the Extension Program) in Portugal. It will be held mainly in the city of Oporto.

Members of 143 Wine Knights from 37 countries around the world will participate in the World Wine Knights Convention in Portugal.

The tournament begins with a welcome dinner, a visit to a winery in the Vinho Verde area, a parade wearing a gown for each knight, a cruise on the Douro River to the city of Douro, and a welcome ceremony gala dinner hosted by the Knights of Port Wine. Is scheduled.

1. 1. Registration of application for participation in our association

If you would like to participate, please apply from our participation form first. It is a provisional application.

2. 2. Registration for participation in the Portuguese Secretariat

You have to do it yourself. The registration details are almost the same.

The secretariat will inform you how to register for the World Championships of the Knights of Wine.

3. 3. Remittance of participation fee

The participation fee will vary depending on the type of hotel, period, etc., but it will be paid in installments as shown below.

Per person

December 2022 Balance

The remittance of the participation fee to the convention secretariat can be organized by the secretariat of the association.

Participation is at your own risk.

In principle, only members are eligible to participate. Currently, non-members need to apply for membership.

It will be a local gathering and a local dissolution, and it is necessary for each participant to arrange round-trip air tickets.

Please note that an interpreter will not be available during your stay.

In addition, you will be required to wear a special robe during the gala dinner and parade.

Please understand that the robe fee and the medal fee of the grape knight will cost about 70,000 yen separately.

Please understand the guidelines for participating in the World Championships of the Knights of Portuguese Wine and participate at your own risk.

For applications made by May 31st, the regular fee will be charged, but for applications made from June 1st to September 30th, a 10% surcharge will be charged.

Regarding the overseas remittance of the participation fee, it is also possible for the secretariat to collect and remit.
